DEFENSE / SPECIAL TEAMS:

For purposes of clarity, the definition of "Special Teams" is the unit of players on the field AFTER (and only after) the kick is attempted. Since the punt or FG team is still on offense before the kick, a fake or mishandled snap is an offensive play. A kick blocked becomes a Special Teams play (as the kick was actually made and then blocked). A Special Teams TD can only occur during a kickoff returns, a blocked kick returned for TD (either way), a fumbled kick/punt return recovered for TD (for kicking team), and punt returns. Mishandled snaps returned by the receiving team for a TD would score for the receiving team's Defense as usual. These are all credited to the D/ST unit.

Production (rush/rec./pass yards and TDs) on fake punts or FGs is counted for the individual player(s) involved, if they are on a team and started at an offensive skill position that week. TDs scored on Special Teams are also credited to the individual player who scores.

Stats of individual defensive players who play on offense do not count for the owner of the D/ST. If someone owns a primarily defensive player at an eligible offensive position, they get credit for the stats (i.e. Charles Woodson scores TD on offense as WR, Oakland D/ST does not get 6.) However, I do not believe rtsports will allow you to have Woodson as a WR or Sapp as a TE, so this matter is relatively moot. Should this need to be addressed I'm sure rtsports will have other leagues requesting the player be made available under the position as an available offensive player.
